Server V6 For Administrators
This 3 day course is
designed to explain the differences between IBM WebSphere Application Server
Version 5 and IBM WebSphere Application Server Version 6.

Prerequisites
Students should be familiar
with IBM WebSphere Application Server V5 administration. This knowledge can be
obtained through work experience, or by completing the WebSphere Application
Server V5 administration classes.
Course objectives
After completing this course, students should be able
to:
- Relate IBM
WebSphere Application Server to the WebSphere family of products.
- Describe the
architectural upgrades and additions implemented in WebSphere Application
Server V6.
- Install and
configure WebSphere Application Server and IBM HTTP Server (IHS).
- Explain the
basic differences between Releases 1.3 and 1.4 of the Java 2 Platform,
Enterprise Edition.
- Assemble and
install server-side Java enterprise applications using Application Server
Toolkit (AST) and IBM WebSphere Rapid Deployment (WRD).
- Use WebSphere
Application Server administrative tools to configure and manage enterprise
applications.
- Explain
WebSphere Platform Messaging (WPM).
- Configure and
deploy enterprise applications.
- View
performance information about server and application components.
- Use problem
determination tools and log files to troubleshoot problems.

This course is intended for
WebSphere administrators who already have a working knowledge of IBM WebSphere
Application Server Version 5, and need to accomplish a transition to Version 6.
