1 Day- Instructor Led

Summary Description:

An introduction to relational database concepts and IBM DB2.

This 1 day course provides a general overview of DB2 concepts focusing on the database structure, security, and writing basic SQL queries to interact with DB2 data. You will examine how DB2 stores data in both single and multiple disk scenarios and explore different methods for adding data to a database. You will explore the logging and backup/recovery options DB2 provides to avoid data loss from such things as power failures.

It provides an overview of the Lotus Domino 7 and Domino Designer 7 environments, introduces the elements and skills that are used in creating single-database Domino applications, describes how the formula language can be used to enhance the functionality of a Domino application, and explains how Domino applications can be secured.

Audience:

The target audience for this course is anyone requiring information about DB2 concepts.  It is not dependent on any version of Domino.  However, understanding these concepts is necessary to administer or develop IBM Lotus Domino 7 applications that use DB2-enabled databases.
